With several galleries to explore and spectacular art on all the walls, Artizan offers an elegant venue for events and functions. May Exhibition Cosmography: Paintings and Drawings by Charles Somerton Charles Somerton lives and works in Exeter, having settled down after several years travelling abroad. His paintings have a rich, deep, tactile surface and an exuberant colour palette which Charles mixes solely from the three primary shades. The sense of harmony present in his works is strongly reminiscent of traditional mandalas, reflecting his observation of similar patterns appearing in ancient artworks around the world. |

May Exhibition Endless Colour: Painting by Jo West A native Devonian, Jo West is a contemporary artist heavily influenced by her rural upbringing. Having studied Psychology at Cardiff University, Jo is fascinated by how colour, as nature’s signalling system, can influence emotion and behaviour. Captivated by the shimmer of the natural world, Jo uses of acrylics, mixed media, and resin to create her paintings depicting highly embellished flowers. |

June Exhibition Jenny Harris Born and educated in Bristol, Jenny studied at the West of England College of Art. She worked as a toy designer and then display designer before becoming Art Department Technician, first at the College of St Matthias Bristol and then in the Polytechnics Faculty of Education. She moved to Devon in 1978 and now works from home. |

September Exhibition Martin Bush Artist in Residence at the Royal William Yard in Plymouth for over twelve years, Martin Bush began his artistic career working commercially producing murals and interior décor projects for restaurants, pubs, and hotels in and around Oxford. A year living in Thailand in the late 1990s led to a shift in focus and Martin discovered his passion for painting abstract works in oils and acrylics. He goes back to Thailand every year to ‘recharge’ his artistic batteries. |
